FAQs

How is Willow 360 different from Willow 3.0?

Willow 3.0 is now Willow 360! We changed its name because no other pump provides 360° mobility, making it possible to live life from every angle. In addition, moms who pump with Willow 360 have access to 360 Care, a personalized support program dedicated to supporting onboarding, sizing, and more. (What didn’t change? Willow 360 is still the only pump that’s Apple Watch-controlled and compatible with totally hygienic, self-sealing bags or reusable containers.)

How is Willow 360 different from other wearable pumps?

Willow 360 is the only wearable pump that’s 100% leak-proof when using our Spill-Proof Milk Bags. There are other wearable pumps that imitate this in-bra design but do not offer 360° of true leak-proof mobility.

It's also the only in-bra wearable pump that offers two ways to pump and store your milk — choose from the leak-proof, self-sealing, ready-to-store milk bags, or reusable containers. The reusable containers are leak-proof up to 180°.

What is Willow 360 Care?

It can take a while to get the hang of wearables — and Willow 360’s leak-proof latch may feel different than what you’re used to. So we designed our support program to help set you up for success. It includes a virtual session with a Willow Mom Coach for personalized onboarding support, extra sizing inserts if you need them, and recommended content on all things pumping with Willow. Your Coach can also connect you with a lactation consultant from SimpliFed.

Getting started is simple. After purchasing your Willow 360, we’ll send you an email with instructions for scheduling your 1:1 appointment, as well as more detail about the program.

How do I use the Willow 360 Pump?

With Willow 360 Care, you can book a virtual session with an Onboarding Coach to get up to speed on assembly, sizing, positioning, and more. The program also offers access to expert-backed articles and videos to help set you up for success.

What are the differences between Willow 360 and Willow Go?

Willow 360 offers complete leak-free mobility when pumping with our Spill-Proof Milk Bags. With its patent-pending latch technology, you can pump in any position, from bending over to laying down. Willow Go does not offer the same 360° mobility — instead, it offers 45° of leak-proof mobility for moms who will not be moving as much when pumping.

Willow 360 also offers more milk storage options. It’s compatible with our Spill-Proof Milk Bags and reusable containers, while Willow Go is only compatible with reusable containers.

Both pumps are app-connected, but Willow 360 is built with smart sensors that send real-time output information to the app — allowing you to track your milk volume while you pump. When pumping with Willow Go, you can enter your volume manually. Finally, you can manage your session from your Apple Watch when using Willow 360, while Willow Go can only be controlled via the app on your phone.

Check out our comparison page for more, or take our pump quiz to decide which pump is right for you.

Is Willow 360 covered by insurance?

Most moms get up to 40% (as much as $159) off their Willow 360 pump and accessories through insurance. Use our Insurance Verifier to check your coverage and purchase your discounted pump.

As you navigate through this process, start with our guide on how to get a breast pump covered by your insurance. It gives you all the questions that you need to take to your insurance provider to understand how to obtain coverage and the costs involved.

Can I use my HSA/FSA on Willow 360?

Yes, you can. Simply pay for your breast pump, milk bags and accessories using your FSA/HSA debit card at checkout, or pay with another credit card and submit your receipt to your plan administrator for reimbursement.

Do you offer financing on Willow 360?

Yes! We partner with Affirm to offer split pay and installment payment plans for the Willow Wearable Breast Pump. Learn more about our financing options.

Do I need to use Milk Bags with Willow 360?

No, Willow 360 is the only pump that offers the option to pump into Spill-Proof Milk Bags or Reusable Containers. Milk Bags enable total 360 degree mobility, while Containers offer 180 degree mobility (more than other wearable pumps!)

What does the Willow app do?

Our easy-to-pair app lets you control your pump and track your milk output in real time, plus view your breast pumping history. You can also access research-backed content and book sessions with experts for personalized pumping, feeding, and postpartum support.

The app is available for iOS 14 and higher and Android OS 10 and higher.

Check the list of compatible devices to see if your phone can be used with the Willow pump app.

What can I do with the Willow app for Apple Watch?

Start and pause your pumps, increase and decrease suction, track your pumping session in real-time, check your pumps’ battery levels, and connect with experts for personalized pumping and feeding guidance.

When Willow 360 isn’t in use, glance down at your watch to see when you last pumped. Willow 360 for Apple Watch is compatible with watch OS 8 and above, and Apple Watch Series 3 or later.

Can I pump using my Apple Watch and leave my phone at home?

No. Willow 360 for Apple Watch is a companion app, meaning that it uses data from the Willow 360 app on your mobile phone. Therefore, your phone will need to remain within ~30 feet of your watch during your session.

Does Willow 360 work with larger breast sizes?

Yes. Willow was designed to work with larger breast sizes including G and H bra cups. (Plus, your flange size and your breast size are not necessarily related, since pump fit is dependent on the width of your nipple, not the size of your cups!)

We strongly recommend measuring yourself to determine your Willow flange and insert size, as it might be different from other pumps you’ve used. You can book a virtual onboarding session through 360 Care for support with sizing, and to receive additional inserts if you need them.

Visit our sizing guide or check out our exhaustive guide on how to measure your flange size which includes pro tips from Willow’s lactation consultants.

Do I need a special bra for Willow 360?

No. But Willow 360 works best with a pumping or nursing bra that’s snug and stretchy (no underwire!) with full coverage so just the top of the pumps peek out. Avoid bras with underwire or padding. The Daily Pumping Bra is designed specifically for Willow pumps, making it a great choice for optimal comfort and output.

What do you mean by hospital grade suction strength?

We know every ounce matters when it comes to pumping and breastfeeding, so we engineer our pumps to optimize milk expression. Willow 360 has a suction range and strength (up to ~245mmHG) that is comparable with traditional double electric and hospital-grade pumps

Will Willow 360 still work if I produce more than four ounces on each side?

Our Spill-Proof Milk Bags and Reusable Containers hold up to 4 oz of milk (8 oz total). Willow 360 automatically shuts off when your Milk Bag or Container is full. If you pump more than 4 oz in a single session, you can easily switch out the bag or empty the container and continue pumping.

Does Willow 360 have a warranty?

Yes! Willow 360 is covered under a 12 month warranty from the purchase date, and pump accessories — all replaceable pump parts including but not limited to flanges, FlexTubes™, containers, milk bags, diaphragms, duckbills, chargers and sizing inserts — are covered under a 90 day warranty. Please review our warranty policy.

Since breast pumps are single-user devices, use by more than one person, including purchasing second hand, will invalidate the warranty. Please keep your original proof of purchase from onewillow.com or an authorized retailer as it is required to exercise your warranty.

Willow cannot be used with any charger that is not provided with the pump or purchased as an accessory from Willow. Usage of third-party charging accessories is unsafe, may cause serious damage to your pump, and will invalidate the warranty.

Can I return Willow 360?

Breast pumps and accessories are regulated as single-user products, and cannot be returned once the safety seal has been broken. See our returns policy.

You can return an unopened Willow Pump within 60 days of the purchase date. If you decide to return your unopened pump or accessories, you must contact us to start the return process and to obtain a RMA number. Please review our return policies.

Only Willow 360 pumps purchased from onewillow.com may be returned directly to us. For products purchased from our retail partners, please follow their instructions.

    Don’t Waste Money on This!

I’ve had both this pump and the Willow GO and the GO is 10x better and easier to use. I’ve only been able to get this pump to work for a full pumping session about 2 times in 3 months. This pump; 1. Can only hold 4oz, so for me (5-6oz each side each pump), I have to take them off, empty and try to get them back on but then get an error message because of the residual milk in the valve so have to end my pump session early. 2. I’ve tried 4 different sets of containers and get nothing but errors (yes my sizing is correct, as customer service always says this is the issue, it’s not) 3. The suction is not strong enough to get me into the expression phase where I can increase the suction. 4. The milk bags are ridiculously expensive for someone who is exclusively pumping multiple times a day. Lastly, I’ve tried contacting customer service many times but they can’t do anything because I bought this pump before I had my baby and thus, the warranty expired.

Hi, Kristen! Thank you for taking the time to share your review of our Willow 360™ Pump! We are sincerely sorry to read that you have been experiencing issues with getting out of expression mode and errors with milk containers. If the errors continue with the milk containers, despite being properly sized (exact sizing or adding 1mm is recommended), the most likely cause is milk fat residue under the clear circle valve where milk pushes through from the flextube™. A vinegar soak can help: https://help.onewillow.com/s/article/How-should-I-deep-clean-my-Containers.

If you find that it can take some time to get out of stimulation mode, we have some tips to help! Once Willow detects milk flow, it transitions automatically to expression mode with 3 levels of suction available. Some Moms have reported that once in stimulation, leaning slightly forward (think elbows on the counter) and relaxing your shoulders can help to help get milk flowing. This position, along with relaxing and deep breathing can help trigger a let down. We also suggest hand expression into the flange prior to latching and beginning a session. This, along with looking at images or videos of your baby, can help get the hormones released during breastfeeding going to encourage a let down. Please feel free to reach out to our Customer Care team - we are here to support you!

The breast pumps is too heavy

I don't know what's the deal with the Williow. It was recommended to me by my O.B and my sister in law. With the heavy price tag it's not worth it. It's too big and too heavy!

    Disappointed

I got this pump with my healthcare worker discount and was so excited. It is very finicky in that if there is any speck of residue on the valve it will not seal and therefore not pump. It also does not read the pumped amounts accurately and routinely gave me “all full” notices when it was not full. Pump parts are supposed to air dry and do not dry if pumping frequently as most do. Pump is also very heavy and even using brand new pumping bras it weighed them down and caused me to have nipple pain. Overall I’m sticking with my Imani2 pump as it is lighter, easier to clean and dry and holds more than 4oz.

    I wanted to love it.

I was SO excited to get this pump. It was going to allow me more freedom with pumping while being a mom to a newborn and 2 year old. I’m an exclusive pumper and have tried many pumps along my journey.

The Willow 3.0 was a HUGE disappointment.

The pumps are so big that you cannot handle your infant comfortably on the side your carrying your baby. Oh and the willow bras? Bought em- not effective for holding the pump in place.

In the first 3 months of my feeding journey I required 3 replacements! And not from pump fatigue but other issues like not connecting to app, broken pieces, etc. my pumps were replaced due to warranty but it was so stressful to not have my pumps working properly almost every month and having to make the same phone call! You are already stressed enough as a new mom and not being able to get milk for your baby adds to the stress!

My latest replacement..I was sent the wrong pump. So now I have to wait longer for replacement.

The accessories: last about 2 months effectively. The best are the bags BUT don’t forget to add this to the already expensive cost of the pump. They also freeze well but take up more space vs the square bags in the freezer.

I’m a nurse practitioner and was looking forward to wearing this if I had a meeting…however you can definitely tell you’re wearing a pump. It is not discrete as advertised.

The app never connected correctly. So many times I didn’t know how much was in the bags/cannisters. And had to keep an eye on the time…
